Barbie Hershberger, LCSW, LCAS-A is a clinical social worker and addiction specialist, who joined PPAD in 2019.  She received a Bachelor degree in Social Work, as well as a Bachelor degree in Psychology in 2016 from Lewis-Clark State College.  She received her Master’s degree in 2017 from Boise State University. She interned at State Hospital North in Idaho.  During her internship, she facilitated a competency restoration group, and a group that addressed illnesses such as schizophrenia and bipolar disorders.  Prior to PPAD, she worked at RHA Health Services which serves adults, children, adolescents with mental illness, substance use and those in crisis. She also facilitated groups focusing on depression, bipolar disorder and trauma. She treats children, adolescents and adults with a variety of issues including but not limited to depression, anxiety, life transitions, bipolar disorder and substance use. Her style is compassionate, caring and client-centered using evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Adlerian Therapy.
