Savannah Corey, LCSW is a clinical social worker joining the PPAD group in 2020. She received her bachelors in social work from the University of North Carolina Wilmington- Onslow extension site in 2013. While there she helped establish a student run club and held an officer position within the honor society.
Savannah then worked for the Onslow County Partnership for Children (OCPC), advocating for the children in her community and helping support parents by linking them with resources and education materials. Savannah was a part of developing the move of the childcare subsidy program to OCPC from the department of social services so families could have a more “one stop shop” approach to getting the services they need to support their needs and healthy development of families.
Savannah obtained her masters degree in social work from the East Carolina University in 2016, also obtaining a certificate in Military and Trauma Counseling while there. Savannah Interned in a psychiatric hospital that served civilians but also had a military ward, serving marines and sailors from Camp Lejeune. Savannah worked as a team lead for Intensive In Home services and as an outpatient therapist for two a half years before taking a position as a Military and Family Life Counselor serving active duty Marines and Sailors stationed at Camp Lejeune.
After relocating to the piedmont area to be closer to family Savannah found PPAD and feels this group is a great fit for providing client centered therapy through evidenced based interventions. Savannah has a passion for working with youth, young adults and adults. Savannah has completed post graduate training centered around treating trauma and providing services to the LGBTQ+ community.
