Waverly Harrell, Ph.D.

Dr. Waverly Harrell is a licensed psychologist who provides psychotherapy for children, adolescents, and adults, including couples and families. The concerns she helps clients work with include anxiety, depression, adjustment problems, grief, stress management, relationship issues, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, behavior disorders, substance abuse, and coping with medical illnesses. Her goal is to help clients use their individual strengths and skills to effect change in their lives. She utilizes cognitive-behavioral techniques and believes a supportive therapeutic relationship is important for progress.
Dr. Harrell has a Ph.D. in school psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, an M.A. in science writing from Johns Hopkins University, and a B.A. in biology from Rice University. Her pre-doctoral internship was with the Southern California Internship Consortium, and she did her post-doctoral work in the Medical Genetics Department at Duke University. She enjoys working with a variety of clients from different backgrounds at PPAD.
